Every once in a while life surprises you. You think “aha, I’ve got it figured out!” and then a month later… things are different. Coming to you in my last week in Indiana and feeling nervous/excited/hopeful for all that my time overseas is likely to bring. I leave for London on Sunday and will no doubt face experiences and moments that impact me for years to come. Cue Life changes by Thomas Rhett!

My time of reflection and rest has been nothing short of impactful. I have remembered what it’s like to take time slow, and prioritize intentional time for myself. Spending moments alongside my sister and the rest of my family has warmed my heart soooo much since December – I had no idea how much I needed to be surrounded by them. It is crazy to think that life is a series of choices, all which lead us to different emotions and paths that we never could have known were there until they happen. Each choice I have made continues to have impacts, and it is so astonishing to watch my life unfold.

All to say, I do not have much to blog about this week. I will be packing and finishing up a TON of last minute errands here in the U.S., and then it will be goodbye for a bit! My itinerary is a little scattered, but it looks a bit like this:

  • London, England
  • Edinburgh, Scotland
  • London, England
  • Canterbury, England
  • Eastbourne, England
  • Ypres, Belgium
  • Marne-la-Vallée, France
  • Versailles, France
  • Lloret de Mar, Spain
  • Barcelona, Spain

I am so excited and cannot contain my joy to finally make my dreams a reality. Backpacking as a nomad across Europe? Check it off the bucket list. I will share itineraries and drop locations of my stays and travels after each trip is complete!

Oh yeah, and remember that post about the state of longing? This not being a time to meet someone? Wild how life works in a magical way – I may or may not have spoken too soon. More to come on that, as I am sure we will all go through that journey together, too. Feeling smitten before leaving has been interesting, but a lil part of my heart will be in the US while I am gone! welcome to my life, J ❤

Xoxo,

makalah marie

p.s. some pics from the last month! ready for the adventure of a lifetime and to come back home to all of my favorite humans afterwards – feeling so grateful for all of my people and leaving so abundantly full of love.
